Mamma Mia

Last night was a first. First night with a babysitter. One that is not a friend or relative. One you have to pick up and take home. And pay. A sick little boy is sure a handful. It was a first. Another first. A Girls Night Out. My mother-in-law treated me, my sister-in-law, and my future sister-in-law to the musical Mamma Mia. It was a first for us girls. It made me truly realize that I have another sister now. Our family is growing. And I like it. I hope the Popplewell Girls will have lots of fun for years to come. Even if only half of us dance to ABBA
:) Thanks Maureen.

The whole group at Keo's for supper before, minus D + Riv

C A N A D A

When three little boys are given t-shirts that match by a sweet friend, you have to make an occasion out of it. And so we did. These little Canadian's Rock EH?

Thank You for the Pumpkin Patch

A huge Thanks to Dutch Grower's for making the Pumpkin Maze. What a terrific idea for kids. I never paid any attention to things like this before I had a child, but after meeting some mom's here and taking a billion pictures amongst the pumpkin's, I was thankful that a Saskatoon business would put in the effort to make a free fun time for hundred's of children. This place was jam packed and full of smiles.

Boys will be Boys

You know you're a parent when.....

Wife: You text your husband at work to tell him with pride that your son discovered his wee wee and keeps grabbing it. You find this the funniest thing that has happened all week.

Husband: "I noticed that yesterday every time I changed his diaper." And him finding it equally hilarious. hehehe...

But both of us worried that he will rip it off!

You Know You're a Parent When

You know you're a parent when......

As I recalled River's fit of teething/crying & choking last night in my head, I got thinking that I wasn't even bothered that I caught a huge gob of phlegm in my bare hand, and neither was Chris as he casually noted the quantity of mucous as large coming from such a small person. In fact, we were both relieved and almost over joyed to see the mucous that was previously obstructing River's airway and further upsetting and aggravating this gasping little one. He was ok and breathing and I would have taken a mucous bath if it meant he could breathe, and so I just began thinking of the things that occur on a regular basis that seem so normal now. I thought, wow you could write a book about it. So I thought I'd start to capture a few.

Husband: "why is his skin flaking off all over his face, what's wrong with him?"
Wife: pause to think.......then realize and respond...... "O nothing... that's just dried rice cereal, woops"
